Day of Europe

8th of May

Last Thursday morning we traveled to BIlbao, because we were invited to a conference to celebrate the day of Europe. To my surprise, it was so entertaining and interesting: Firstly, because it was in Inglish and secondly, because I realise how important is to know apart from English, another different lenguages depends on where you want to work in the future. There were 4 people who shared with us their laboral experience and what they think about lenguage. Finally, they allowed us to ask some questions if we wanted to. At the end, we had a little lunch with the other students who attend to the confecerce. We had very good time in Bilbao !!!!!!!

9th of May

On friday, our teachers made a questionarie to all DBH students. The objetive was for  cohesion and solidarity and to promote the knowledge of other cultures and languages; and of course, to people realise that in the 9th of may is the day of Europe. They put some lenguages and the students have to match these with a phrase in that lenguage. Such a successful idea!!!!!!!

DECALOGUE: UNAI AND ANE

Unai and I have done a decalogue for the project about poverty and social exclusion.

The aim of this decalogue is to encourage organizations to help to improve this situation (poverty and social exclusion). We came up with some ideas and afterwards we have chosen the best ones. As it is a Decalogue, we put 10 ideas.

We divided the work in two parts: Unai thought of 5 ideas and me another 5. Not only do we took some ideas about our classmates but also we surfed the internet, where we found out opinions of a lot of people. Based on that, we have taken advantage of it and buit up other concepts.

Below you can check out these ten ideas listed above with the title ''DECALOGUE (COMPLETED)''

DECALOGUE (COMPLETED)

 1. DONATE
They should make a little effort and encouraging people to help poor people by donating things that they don't use any more; such us, toys, old clothes, furnitures or a bit of money...

2. VOLUNTEER
They can also find volunteers to help kids, families, homeless, soup kitchens, community centers...

3. ORGANIZE A CAMPAING
There are a number of different local and national campaing that everybody can join to help conbat poverty, as the one we have prepared.

4. ORGANIZE A RALLY
They ought to prepare a rally. A rally is a great way to raise awareness about homelessness in your comunity. A large gathering of people shows solidarity for a cause and is a grat way to get the attention of the media, businesses...

5. WRITE ARTICLES FOR THE MEDIA
An article to evey local and national newspaper about homelessness in our community is a grat way to spread the word, and to personalize the matter with statistics and facts that hit close to home. So that they would educate others.

6. PUT ADVERTISTMENTS FOR THE CITIZENS
Encouraging young people, such as students, is a great idea to If you want to educate your fellow students, try getting approval to hang posters with facts and statistics about homelessness and poverty around your school's campus and adding ideas for ways to take action.

7. NO ONE MUST DISCRIMINATE
It is also essential not to discriminate those who are at risk of poverty. The society tends to be afraid of homeless who are sleeping in the street and don't have the chance to have a shower or eat something everyday. However, instead of leaving them behind we should take action. So any discriminatory behavour should be punished.

8. MAKE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE SITUATION & HELP
We should raise the awareness of people about how critical the society's situation is nowadays. There is a huge number of people in need who should be helped. So, in order to give an end to this detrimental situation, taking part in NGOs would be undoubtedly a great idea. We can all volunteer and try to emphasize with them.

9. BUILD REFUGES
To build refuges for evicted people and in general for poor people.

10.POLITICIAN CONTRIBUTION
Politicians should increase the help that poor people receive by increasing the taxes of rich people. Morover, they ought to change the law of evictions. If a family is evicted they must leave them living in their house for a while.

Europe in the Basque Country

For my point of view, when I think of Europe in the Bask Country the most related and representative one is the car registration. All our cars have in common this here, In this country.

European Debt Crisis

Crisis is the situation of a complex system (family, economy, society) when the system functions poorly, an immediate decision is necessary, but the causes of the dysfunction are not known.

And as we know Spain is one of the most affected one, the unemployed rate  increases gradually...

The other day we were speaking about this topic in the class, and we started with it because we are going to do a project as you could see later.

  Eurozone crisis

The Eurozone crisis resulted from a combination of complex factors, including the globalisation of finance.

BBC News - In graphics: Eurozone crisis

In this new you have a very good graph and explanation about it.

http://www.eurozone.europa.eu/euro-area/topics/the-eus-response-to-the-crisis/

In response to the crisis the member states, the euro area and the European Union as a whole have taken a broad range of measures to ensure financial stability, support growth and employment and improve economic governance.
